It is obviously a young Pete Docherty. Weirdly he looks a lot like photos of me when I was a similar age. Just think if things had worked out differently, I could look like a crack head now too. He has that overconfident air of someone who feels he has something to prove, the antithesis of the image he now puts across. I can’t help but think his young fanbase would fall apart if this clip circulated. He’s trying to hard to be clever and it backfires, his middle class roots showing through by eating a croissant as a light snack, in 1995 no less. There’s something very X-Factor contestant about his overeagerness to get on telly. I’m guessing he was definitely bullied hard. Bad show to that presenter for thinking he’s brilliant.
